Kessock Highland Lodges
Kessock Highland Lodges are deluxe lodges set in peaceful countryside in the remote heart of the Scottish Highlands. If you’re looking for a quiet rural retreat with modern comforts, these lodges offer the best of both worlds: a secluded, tranquil setting and a convenient base for exploring the Highlands.
Perfect for couples and small families, the atmosphere here is all about switching off fresh air, wide skies, and that “away from it all” feeling while still being within reach of iconic Highland experiences. Whether you’re planning long walks, scenic drives, wildlife watching or relaxed days in and around Inverness, this is a comfortable place to come back to at the end of the day.
If you’re comparing Scottish Highland lodges, Kessock Highland Lodges stand out for their contemporary finish, the sense of privacy, and those little details that make self-catering easy (especially if you’re staying more than a weekend). It’s the kind of getaway that works just as well for a cosy winter break as it does for lighter summer evenings and outdoor adventures.
Kessock Highland Lodges accommodation

The interiors are stylish and welcoming ideal if you want the feel of a special stay while still having everything you need for a comfortable self-catering break.
One of the highlights is the spacious dining and living area, with doors leading out to a private decked space. Many guests love the outdoor setup, especially with the hot tub: it’s hard to beat unwinding in warm bubbles after a long walk, taking in the views, and, on clear nights, enjoying a bit of stargazing.
For chilled evenings in, the lodges are well equipped with entertainment options including a flat screen TV with Freeview and DVD player, plus CD players, iPod docking stations and Wi-Fi* handy for rainy days, planning routes, or settling in with a film.

Kessock Highland Lodges surrounding area
The surrounding area is a dream for anyone who loves the outdoors forests, lochs, coastline, and big Highland landscapes. One of the must see nearby highlights is Loch Ness, famous for its dramatic scenery (and, of course, its legendary “resident”).
A great way to experience it is on foot via the Inverfarigaig – Foyers walk (via Loch Ness): a scenic circular route that starts at the Inverfarigaig (Farigaig) forest car park and continues toward Upper Foyers, then descends with viewpoints that look out across the water and towards the falls. Bring a camera—this is one of those classic Highland walks where the views keep paying off.
For bigger mountain scenery and wildlife, Cairngorms National Park makes an impressive day out for hiking and nature spotting. If you’d rather swap boots for a boat, the Moray Firth is known for marine wildlife, and a boat trip may reward you with a dolphin sighting.
If you’re keen on wilder coastal landscapes, the area around Achiltibuie and Ben Mor Coigach offers a spectacular mix of mountains, moorland, peat bog and a chain of lochs. Wildlife watching can be rewarding here too, with species that may include ptarmigan, great northern diver, grey seal, otter and red deer. The trail from Strathkannaird to Achiltibuie is a memorable coastal walk if you enjoy sea views, rugged scenery and quieter routes.
History lovers are also well served. Fort George is very close by and makes a fascinating visit. This huge artillery fortification was built following the Battle of Culloden and includes reconstructed barrack rooms alongside displays of historic weaponry. For something even older, Clava Cairns is a brilliant family-friendly stop. Dating back around 4,000 years, the Bronze Age cemetery includes multiple cairns and passage graves and gives you a real sense of ancient Scotland.
When you want a change of pace, Inverness (the Highland capital) is just a short drive away. It’s ideal for a relaxed day of shopping, cafés and restaurants, plus riverside walks and standout architecture—including the city’s striking Gothic cathedral.
